The need for safety

JOYCE:

You are revealing to us all, the truth of your control. Aren’t you worried that when people learn about your tricks you will lose your source of power?

FEAR:

Like I have told you before I do not fear the exposure you wish to accomplish with our conversations.

JOYCE:

So Fear does not have fears.

FEAR:

I did not say that. We will discuss this at a later time, or maybe not.

JOYCE:

Explain how our need to stay safe from our own fears allows you to control us.

FEAR:

Good question. Let me see if I can explain this for you. With your limited understanding of how powerful your need for safety is, you might not totally get what I tell you.

FEAR:

This powerful need for safety creates a war. A war that takes place deep inside where choice is truly made.

JOYCE:

What choice are you talking about?

FEAR:

JOYCE:

FEAR:

Mine of course, and my enemies.

JOYCE:

Who is your enemy?

FEAR:

Come on, you know exactly who my enemy is. You have been choosing to listen to this other voice for a very long time now.

JOYCE:

I would like to hear your definition of who your enemy is.

FEAR:

Very well. My enemy is my exact opposite. The light to my dark, the positive to my negative. Spirit of course!
