Determination and Focus

JOYCE:

What is determination and focus?

FEAR:

They are both energy’s available to anyone. Many use these two energy’s to achieve that which they desire in the physical world. What you did…why you were able to enter my world and learn my secrets comes from where you directed these energy’s. You focused your determination inward.

JOYCE:

Yes I did. I wanted to be free of your control with such a passion that I was willing to find out where and how I gave you the power that controlled me. I knew I was part of the problem I just needed to discover how. Tell me of another energy available to us all.

FEAR:

Desire is another energy with immense power. Most only focus this energy in the material world. When anyone uses this energy and focuses it inward, as you have done, desire will move mountains. But I do not worry… most will continue to use desire to achieve only physical accomplishments and rewards.

JOYCE:

How specifically does desire, focus, and determination move mountains? What are the mountains you speak of?

FEAR:

The obstacles preventing anyone’s connection with there own power.

JOYCE:

So the mountains are really the fears life has given us?

FEAR:

You are correct.

JOYCE:

Lets go back to what you said about how our largest fear is all about fearing our own power.

FEAR:

Decades ago you were in counseling, do you remember what your counselor shared with you… that most people get to the point in their healing, the point where you were at, and they decide to stop coming to her?

JOYCE:

Yes I remember. Why are you bringing this up?

FEAR:

She spoke truth. She explained there comes a point in their therapy where to truly become whole one must own their own “goodness” as she called it. It was at this point they decide to stop coming. Think about it….why would they choose not to go further? Did you stop?

JOYCE:

No I did not. Oh, I see what you mean now. Most were afraid of the power they have so they stopped moving forward…or inward I should say. I can relate to why most choose to stop. I felt the fear too. The fears I felt were shame and self-doubt. I heard these fears telling me “who do you think you are?” “your nothing special.” Was this your voice?

FEAR:

Of course. I just used your own life given fears of shame and self-doubt to convince you not to go further. I would not embellish a fear that was not already a part of your own belief system. If I had used the fear of perfectionism it would not of had a chance of working. Perfectionism was not one of the fears life had given you.

To no avail… your desire to become free of my control had become more powerful than my ability of persuasion.

This happens every so often. Some escape my grasp. I don’t worry much…I might lose a battle from time to time…but I AM winning the war!
